Gizmo Needs YOU!
The gift of a volunteer’s time helps us to provide quality programs in the form of mentorship, skills-based community classes, summer camps, out-of-school programs, and more at an accessible price point for all. It means that we are able to maintain our equipment and facilities to accommodate the needs of our members. And we can reach out and serve the greater community by teaching more people new skills and how to use our tools and machines to make amazing things.
Your time is an invaluable gift to Gizmo and the community!
Gizmo has identified volunteer needs in several areas, and Volunteer Job Postings can be viewed here.
- Volunteers are expected to be good stewards of the makerspace, and a knowledge of our policies and procedures is a must, therefore, current/former members may be given preference in selection. Non-members will be expected to spend some time reviewing our website to learn more about how we operate here at Gizmo, and will be asked to take a short quiz after submitting the application.
- You will be required to submit to a background check, as we do work closely with children in the space and want to ensure the safety and security of all who come here.
- Any training or tool or machine certifications will be provided as needed, so that you may be successful in your volunteer role.
Ready to get started?
If you are not a member, or have never been to Gizmo before, please make some time to come for a visit and in-person tour of the space, so that we can get to know you. If we have a volunteer job posting at that time that interests you, we will provide you with a link to an application.
If you are previously familiar with Gizmo, and you see a volunteer opportunity that is the perfect fit for you, please send an email to info@gizmo-cda.org and we will send you an application to get you started.
Don’t see a perfect fit in one of the volunteer job postings listed, but know that you are a perfect fit to volunteer at the makerspace? Send us an email with some info about you and what you could potentially see yourself doing at Gizmo, and if we can, we will make something happen. No idea is too big or too small for consideration!
